Planting Pinwheels for Prevention

March 31, 2018

During Child Abuse Prevention month, you will see blue and silver pinwheels “growing” across Frederick County. Pinwheels are the national symbol of a child abuse prevention. These whimsical reminders of childhood remind us that we each play an important role in making sure every child grows up free of abuse and neglect.

April 7, 2018

Join us at the Healing Garden on the First Saturday of April.

Wear Blue Friday

Date to be announced soon!

Blue is the memorial ribbon color used to honor victims of child abuse. Wear blue anywhere and everywhere-to work, to play, to school, to a community event, and at home. Don that blue shirt, tie or cap, blue jeans or whatever blue works for you!  Then show your blue by taking a selfie, a group photo, outside or inside your office. Challenge your friends and colleagues to do the same.

Blue Worship Weekend

April 27 – 29, 2018

We invite your house of worship to participate in Frederick’s Blue Worship Weekend, a time to pray for our children and raise awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Blue Sunday observance on the last Sunday of April has grown to include over 7 million participants on five continents since it began in 1994.
