Pinwheels for Prevention

All children deserve to have happy, healthy childhoods and bright futures

During Child Abuse Prevention month, you will see blue and silver pinwheels “growing” across Frederick County. Pinwheels are the national symbol of a child abuse prevention. These whimsical reminders of childhood remind us that we each play an important role in making sure every child grows up free of abuse and neglect.

Pinwheels for Prevention has taken off as a national campaign and we want to add Frederick to the list of communities participating.

Join us in showing your support for our children by adding these colorful pinwheels to your  gardens, yards, and any other places you want! It doesn’t matter whether you plant one pinwheel or 100, you will help grow awareness that leads to prevention. Like seeds, children thrive when they receive tender loving care!

We invite you to send us a picture of your pinwheel garden so we can post them on our Facebook page.
